Lament of the Sea
Home, home at last. Eclipse was gone, and he was restored to the post of light king, to rule over his beloved PureWater Cove. Alone? No, not alone. Sapphire Blaze was somewhere, and he knew it. He just didn't know where. But she was alive, and so was his son, unlike Rose and Triton. Those two had passed on, leaving him behind in a state of living death from grief. There was nothing he could do about it either. But he needed Sapphire. It was she that brought him back from the brink of suicide, especially after finding his mother and father dead after years and years of rule.
They fell in love, and they had a son together, a healthy, beautiful son. If only Sonata was here to meet her new nephew. He still didn't know where she went, or what had happened to her. It was like she dropped off the face of the earth. The last living reminder of his mother, the same kindness that lived in Serenade lived in Sonata, the same blue eyes, everything. She was their mother, through and through. And if anything had happened to her, he didn't know what he would do. If it was someone else who had hurt her, he knew it would only be a matter of time until he brought about their death.
Lament shook his head, dispelling thoughts of killing and death. He was the light king. He could not be a vigilante and expect to keep his lofty position. And he had Sapphire to think about, as well as their son. Oh, where were they? Why were they not by his side at this very moment? He needed her, needed her soft voice, her warm comfort, everything about her. The large grey stallion sighed, and began to walk the cliff edge, musing on everything that was going on in his life, and everything that had gone on. His history was extensive, and involved so many others that he could barely remember them all.
